New London - The Connecticut College volleyball team is going to play in its first New England Small College Athletic Conference tournament championship match.

And the Camels are going to get to do it on their home court.

Top-seeded Conn beat No. 5 Williams College 25-21, 25-19, 25-16, Saturday in the NESCAC semifinals at Luce Field House.

Conn (24-2) plays No. 2 Middlebury, which eliminated No. 3 Bowdoin 3-2 in the other semifinal, today at noon for the championship.

Rachel Schroff had 13 kills and nine digs, Katie Ketcham had 37 assists, seven digs, five aces and three kills, Carly Guiducci had 25 digs and Caroline Martin had 11 kills and five digs for the Camels.

In another match:

• No. 4 Coast Guard fell to top-seeded Wellesley 3-0 in the semifinals of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference tournament. Wellesley (28-4) won 25-23, 25-9, 25-19. Karen Matic had nine kills, Kelsey DePorto had eight kills, Maggie Hine had 19 assists and Keriann Mason and Samantha Marmolejo had seven digs each for Coast Guard (18-14).

Men's soccer

• No. 3 Springfield College scored once in each half and went on to beat No. 2 Coast Guard in the NEWMAC tournament semifinals at Wellesley. Richie Burns made two saves for Coast Guard (11-6-1), which outshot Springfield (8-9-2), 16-9.

Men's cross country

• Stephen Horvath placed 41st (27:52) for Coast Guard as it placed ninth out of 43 teams at the ECAC Championships at Mt. Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass.

Amherst won the meet (44 points) while the Bears scored 318. Conn College finished 22nd (687).

Zach Kearney (27:59) placed 48th for Coast Guard while Brad Pienta was 65th (28:27). Also, Matt Monahan was 74th (28:39) and Nick Foster was 93rd (28:57).

For Conn, Michael Joyce finished 75th (28:41), Dan Gossels was 139th (29:58) and Billy Martinsky was 156th (30:22). Also, Blake Reilly placed 165th (30:35) and Matt Gitkind 166th (30:37).

Women's cross country

• Kendall Auth (45th, 24:44) was Coast Guard's top finisher at the ECAC Championships.

Middlebury won the meet (31 points) and Coast Guard finished 13th (375) out of 42 teams. Conn College finished 21st (608).

Jess Mulroy placed 55th (25:02), Rebecca Fox was 65th (25:05) and Cameo Ulbricht was 90th (25:35) for Coast Guard Also, Kristen Shultz finished 139th (26:41).

For Conn, Maura Hallisey placed 102nd (25:53), Sarah Huckins was 107th (25:58) and Heather Rochford was 136th (26:34) for Conn. Also, Anna Curtis-Heald was 137th (26:38) and Grace Glynn 153rd (26:55).

Men's swimming

• Christian Brindamour won three events and was part of a winning relay team, leading Coast Guard to a pair of dual meet wins over host Rhode Island (213.5-71.5) and NEWMAC rival Springfield (160-138). Brindamour won the 100 backstroke (55.41), the 50 freestyle in 21.38 and the 100 freestyle (48.41) and was on the 200 medley relay team.

Marco Tinari (1,000 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Derrien Duryea (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke) were double winners for the Bears (2-0).

Wrestling

• Coast Guard freshman Mike Shermot beat Woody Herman of Elizabethtown, 12-6, to win the 165-pound championship at the Messiah Invitational at Grantham, Pa. Messiah won the meet with 105 points and the Bears placed sixth (60.5). Mike Giorgio placed second at 133 pounds, Luke Taylor was third at 174 pounds, and Mike Giorgio finished fourth at 149 pounds.

Women's swimming

• Coast Guard opened its dual-meet season with a pair of losses, falling to host Rhode Island (211-76) and NEWMAC opponent Springfield (211.5-81.5). Chantel Ferguson had a pair of second-place finishes and a third-place finish for Coast Guard.
