    Local colleges: Coast Guard women fall in OT

    Framingham, Mass. - Nicole Bostick made a pair of free throws with 30 seconds left in overtime to lift Framingham State to a 76-75 win over the Coast Guard Academy in a nonleague women's basketball game Monday night.

    Meghan Fornaro led Coast Guard with 21 points and seven rebounds, Karli Collins had 18 points and 20 rebounds and Jamie Waterman scored 10 points for the Bears (2-2).

    In another game:

    • Connecticut College lost to Western Connecticut State in a nonleague game, 54-38. Sophomore Carlee Smith led Conn (1-3) with eight points and teammate Tara Gabelman had 10 rebounds.

    Mitchell players honored

    • A pair of Mitchell College men's basketball players earned recognition from the New England Collegiate Conference. Junior forward Joshua Ford was named NECC Player of the Week for the second week in a row, and freshman forward Devonta Mosley was named NECC Rookie of the Week. They helped the Mariners to an 88-71 victory over Coast Guard on Nov. 20, the program's first win over its in-city rival.

    Ford scored a game-high 24 points, had a team-high nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. Mosley scored all 11 of his points in the first half. He also added four rebounds and an assist in only 16 minutes.
