New London - Voters will decide on Election Day whether to replace their city manager form of government with an elected mayor system.

To raise awareness on this important question The Day's editorial board will host a public discussion on the proposed change at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the ballroom at New London Harbour Towers, 461 Bank St.

There will be a brief historical presentation of the city's various forms of government followed by a panel discussion on the pros and cons of elected mayor and city manager administrations. The public will then be invited to participate in the conversation.
