Leslie Buck Memorial Fund sponsors 10th annual fun walk

Stonington — The 10th annual Family Fun Walk & Reception sponsored by the Leslie E. Buck Memorial Fund will be held Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. beginning at Wadawanuck Square in the borough.

Hundreds of people turn out each year for the two-mile walk through the borough. Proceeds benefit the fund which promotes the love of reading in area schools through activities, programs and books for students.

The registration fee is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 17 and free for those under 5. The maximum fee per family is $25.

Buck was a popular teacher at Deans Mill School who died under suspicious circumstances in 2002. Her husband Charles was found not guilty of her murder in 2010.
