The employees of Lenny’s Indian Head Inn and the Branford police will team up to present their 20th Annual Tip-A-Cop event benefitting Special Olympics Connecticut on Monday, June 4th, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Lenny’s Indian Head Inn is located at 205 South Montowese Street, Branford. Since the event’s inception 20 years ago, Branford police officers, along with the late Kim Conlin - an unwavering supporter and previous owner of Lenny’s, current owners Chris Conlin and Lloyd Conlin, and the entire Lenny’s Indian Head Inn staff, have collaborated to raise over $70,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut athletes.

As in previous years, police officers will don aprons, take orders and serve lunch and dinner to restaurant patrons for the day, working with restaurant employees. Envelopes will be provided on tables so that guests may leave tips for the officers who serve them. All tips the officers receive for their efforts will go to support Special Olympics athletes in their year-round sports training and to further the Special Olympics mission of inspiring inclusion, respect and acceptance for individuals of all abilities. About the Special Olympics Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run®

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. This year-round program involves law enforcement officers from across the state who volunteer their time to raise awareness and funds through events including Tip-a-Cops, Cop-on-Tops, and Jail N’ Bails. In 2011, the Torch Run raised over $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.
