    OpSail lands more sponsors

New London — More than a dozen more corporate sponsors have agreed to sponsor OpSail2012 Connecticut, the tall ships event that’s now less than two weeks away.

Organizers announced Monday that the latest to join the list are: AT&T, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Cross Sound Ferry Co., Groton Utilities, Metrocast, Mitchell College, People’s Bank, Pfizer and Riverbank Construction.

Also signing on, organizers said, are Durant Ventures, M. Barrett Painting, Defender, Thames Towboat and CH2M.

“These latest companies are among a growing list of businesses that have gotten behind this great celebration, and we very much appreciate their support,” John Johnson, the OpSail chairman, said in a statement. “More are coming in every day and we expect that to continue to happen.”

OpSail, featuring a parade of more than 20 ships, will take place July 6-9 in New London Harbor.
