    Norwich police survey available

Norwich — Police have released a survey for residents, city employees, property owners and business owners to provide feedback on the community policing efforts in the downtown, Greeneville and Taftville neighborhoods.

“The information provided by this survey will give our officers an opportunity to design programs based on needs of the respondents,” Police Chief Louis J. Fusaro Sr. said in a press release. “It provides the feedback necessary to help ensure we are making an impact.”

Sgt. Peter Camp, the community policing supervisor, said the city is one year into a Community Development Block Grant that “has allowed the police to increase community policing initiatives without over burdening Norwich taxpayers.” The grant has been used to install cameras in Greeneville and the downtown area, Camp said. Additionally, Camp said six officers have been assigned to community policing duty. The survey, he said, will allow the department a better line of communication with the community on the effectiveness of such programs.

The survey, open until Sept. 24, can be completed online here or in person at any of the following locations:

    • City Hall, 100 Broadway

    • Norwich Public Utilities, 173 North Main St.

    • Otis Library, 261 Main St.

    • Norwich Police Department, 70 Thames St.

    • Taftville Post Office, 72 South B St., Taftville
