Norwich — The Connecticut Education Association has announced its endorsement of Emmett D. Riley, Democratic candidate for the 46th District House seat.

CEA has a membership of 41,000 that includes K-12 teachers in Connecticut public schools as well as retired teachers and college students preparing to become teachers.  Since it’s founding more than 160 years ago, CEA has been a grassroots organization that is a strong and effective champion for teachers and public schools.

“The product of the Norwich public schools and the son of a Norwich public school teacher of over 32 years it is my honor to have the endorsement of the Connecticut Education Association,” Riley said in a press release.

Riley said in addition to his mother, two of his brothers are also school teachers.

He is running against Republican Mikel Middleton.
