    Free memory screens, an initiative of National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

    Waterford — The town’s Senior Services Department invites residents to participate in free, confidential memory screenings Tuesday, Nov. 13.

    The event, which is part of National Memory Screening Day, is an annual initiative that the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America holds each November during National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month.

    More than 2,000 sites throughout the country will be participating in the screenings.

    Senior Services and the students from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing will provide the memory screenings at the Waterford Community Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are accepted. For more information call (860) 444-5839.
