    More Storm Updates: Food Pantry, Shelter to Reopen

    Temporary power and lighting by the East Haven Fire Department will enable to East Haven Food Pantry, 39 Park Place, to reopen for food distribution on Thursday (Nov. 1) and Friday (Nov. 2) from 9 to 11 am and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations.     In addition, the emergency shelter at East Haven High School will reopen on Thursday (Nov. 1) at noon. Residents should bring hygiene items, blankets, pillows, and towels. Shower facilities are available and light snacks will be served. The shelter will again accept pets, which must be in a carrier. The facility will be operated by the East Haven Fire Department and will also have representatives from the American Red Cross.

    The town landfill is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Nov. 1 through Nov. 3) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents don’t need permits on those days.

    The Town Clerk’s office will be open for extended voter registration on Thursday (Nov. 1) until 8 p.m.

    Because Deer Run and Ferrara schools have no power, East Haven schools will not be in session on Thursday (Nov. 1).
