FIG CORRECTION

A column in the Oct. 18 edition of the Times stated that fresh figs are not available for purchase in Connecticut. That is incorrect. Figs can be purchased here from June to September (and perhaps later) depending on where they are grown. Fig trees can also be grown in Connecticut as long as they are wintered over correctly.
