Norwich Historical Society fundraiser at Robin Williams show

Norwich – Fans of Robin Williams have the opportunity to see the legendary comedian’s act at Mohegan Sun Arena Saturday in a luxury skybox and support the Norwich Historical Society’s local lecture series next spring.

The Mohegan tribe has donated use of the skybox for the show to the Norwich Historical Society in support of the William B. Stanley Lecture Series. The fundraiser skybox tickets for “Robin Williams Live” Saturday at 8 p.m. are $125 per person and can be reserved by calling (860) 383-1377. Complimentary food and drink will be served during the show. There are only 100 tickets available.

The William B. Stanley Lecture Series was created to honor the memory of local writer and historian, who wrote for local newspapers and published multiple books on Norwich’s history. Stanley also served as president of the Norwich Historical Society board for many years.

The series features Thomas Fleming, noted historian of the American Revolution, who will speak on April 18 about “What Was It Really Like In 1776!”

To make a direct donation to the William B. Stanley Lecture Series mail a check, payable to “Norwich Historical Society” memo WBSLS, to the NHS office, 307 Main St., Norwich, CT 06360.
