Redevelopment Agency to hold four informational meetings

Preston – After consulting with the agency’s and the town's attorneys, the Preston Redevelopment Agency has scheduled four public informational meetings before the Nov. 27 referendum on a proposed $8 million loan to continue cleanup of the former Norwich Hospital property.

The meetings will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston Veterans’ Memorial Schoo; at 6 p.m. Thursday, prior to the 7:30 p.m. town meeting on the issue, also at PVMS; at 10 a.m. Saturday at Town Hall; at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 20, at PVMS.

Written materials on the presentation will be posted on the PRA website and hard copies will be made available at Town Hall prior to the first meeting on Tuesday, PRA Chairman Sean Nugent said.

Board of Finance member Norman Gauthier had objected to the informational meetings during Thursday’s Board of Selectmen meeting and the agency held off on scheduling meetings until hearing from attorneys.
