At approximately 2:15 p.m. today, the East Haven Police Department received numerous 911 calls reporting a fight among several males in the area of 20 Maplevale Road.

Initial investigation revealed that three brothers were assaulted by two other males. Two of the brothers, ages 21 and 26, received multiple stab wounds.

Both were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital in critical condition. The third brother, age 23, was assaulted with an unknown blunt object, but was able to assist and is cooperating with police investigators. All three are from Wallingford, previously from East Haven.

One 21-year-old male and a juvenile male were arrested shortly after police were contacted.

Investigation indicates that the dispute took place over a stolen item.
