Clinton Police Investigate Last Night's Car Burglaries

The Clinton Police Department is investigating a string of car burglaries that happened on the night/morning hours of Dec. 7 in the Commerce Street area. The suspects are targeting unlocked motor vehicles parked in dimly lit driveways.

Items stolen are wallets, cash, loose coins, small electronics devices (GPS, iPods, iPhones, etc…) and credit cards which have been left unsecured in the passenger compartments of the vehicles. One vehicle was stolen that had the car keys in the vehicle.

Anyone seeing a dark blue Land Rover, SUV bearing CT registration plate 481-TRJ or anyone with any information, please contact Ofc. Matthew Reed at the Clinton Police Department at 860-669-0451.

This is the second string of multiple car burglaries within a two-week period whose victims were in a closely knit neighborhood, with similar manner of criminal operation, culminating in one of the victims' cars being stolen.
