Make a Difference: Martin House
WHO: Vivian, 51.
AGENCY: Martin House in Norwich provides safe, affordable, permanent housing with services to 56 adults who have been homeless, mentally ill and/or addicted.
SITUATION: Vivian was hit by a car in September 2011 on Montauk Avenue in New London. She suffered broken bones and head trauma that she said left her in a coma for nearly a month. She lost her job of eight years during her recovery, which required several surgeries. "This has really been a tragedy for me, but I have the will to keep going," she said.
WHAT TO GIVE: Size 9 slippers, medium-sized pajamas and a bathrobe, shower gel and a Wal-Mart gift card.

The agency also could use gas cards, Wal-Mart gift cards, grocery gift cards, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, silverware, plastic bowls, coffee cups, shower curtains, twin sheets/blankets, hand sanitizer and batteries.
