    Library to host financial fitness series

    Norwich - Otis Library, in partnership with Chelsea Groton Bank, will host a week of financial-themed programs beginning Monday, Jan. 14.

    All programs are free and open to the public.

    The series starts next Monday with “Taxes: What’s New for 2013,” at 6:30 p.m. Norwich accountant Michael Goldblatt will explain up-to-date tax information.

    On Tuesday, Jan. 15, the library will host “Identity Theft Education Day,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library will have information available on identity theft, including how to prevent it, detect it and what victims should do.

    On Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m., the library will hold a workshop “Saving for your Child’s Education” will feature information about various savings plans available and how to make the most of them.

    Also on Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m., the library will have a story-time and craft session with a money theme for children ages 3 and up. No registration necessary.

    The series continues Thursday, Jan. 17 at noon with a lunch program on reverse mortgages. Registration is required for the lunch. Call (860) 889-2365, ext. 128 or at the calendar section of the library’s website www.otislibrarynorwich.org.

    Financial Fitness Week concludes Friday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. with a session on how to plan and shop for healthier meals.
