Grants available for farm, forest and wetland conservation

The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting grant applications from landowners interested in implementing practices that improve natural resources on farms, forestland and wetland areas through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, the Agricultural Management Assistance Program, and the Working Lands for Wildlife Initiative.

The grants are for projects to reduce soil erosion or nutrient loss on cropland, to manage manure and nutrients associated with livestock products, and to improve grazing programs, woodlands management and wildlife habitat.

The application deadline is April 19. For information, visit: www.ct.nrcs.usda.gov/programs or call (860) 887-3604.
