East Haven High School sophomore Alex Diverniero learns how to do chest compressions from EMT Joseph Deko. Diverniero was one of dozens of students, faculty, and town officials who took part in the May 22 attempt to set a world record for most people trained in life-saving chest compression-only CPR. The record attempt was an initiative undertaken by American Medical Response, Inc., which partnered locally with the East Haven Fire Department.
