New London - Dr. Gregory Azia, a general surgeon, will host an informational session about inguinal hernias from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Baker Auditorium at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

He will discuss this potentially life-threatening health condition that does not heal on its own. He’ll address the symptoms, causes and latest surgical repair techniques.

A member of the L+M medical staff, Azia will explain the benefits that laparoscopic hernia surgery provides and how patients may expect a quicker return to work and a pain-free everyday life. He also will answer questions from attendees.
