The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:45 p.m. this evening for New London County. Doppler radar was tracking a line of thunderstorms capable of producing quarter hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour.

Winds associated with a thunderstorm rolling into the area have already led to several reports of downed tree limbs and in one case in Montville, a blocked roadway.

Montville emergency dispatchers have called out utility crews to attend to a limb that reportedly fell onto power lines and blocked a portion of Doyle Road.

In Norwich, crews were called out to a report of a tree limb that had fallen in the area of 60 Town St. in the Yantic section of town.
