    Former New London police officer joins Norwich force

    Officer Michael Krodel, 24, of Gales Ferry, was sworn in as the newest member of the Norwich Police Department on Monday morning, June 24, 2013. He will start his Field Training with the Police Department immediately.

    Norwich - Norwich Police Chief Louis J. Fusaro has announced the hiring of former New London Police Officer Michael Krodel, a 24-year-old Gales Ferry resident.

    Krodel was sworn in as the newest member of the department on Monday and will start field training immediately.

    A graduate of the Connecticut Police Academy's 333rd Training Session, Krodel worked as a police officer in New London for the past two years. After he completes field training, Krodel will be assigned to a shift within the department's patrol division.

    Krodel is a 2007 graduate of Waterford High School and is currently working towards an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Three Rivers Community College.
