Saltwater fishing festival Saturday at Fort Trumbull State Park

The state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection is sponsoring “Saltwater Fishing Day” Saturday at Fort Trumbull State Park, New London, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There are a number of free activities scheduled to take place at the saltwater fishing festival, including fishing and crabbing from the pier, which will be staffed by certified fishing instructors from DEEP’s CARE program; fish activities and games for youngsters; and fishing instruction.

Free bait will be provided along with a limited number of fishing poles, but people are encouraged to bring their own.
