Montville superintendent resigns, takes leave, won't return to job

Montville — Superintendent of Schools Pamela Aubin has resigned effective July 1 and will take a leave this school year. The school board voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow Chairman David Rowley to accept her resignation and leave request. Aubin was not present.

Rowley called the action a "mutual agreement," and said, "We are eager to move forward with the leadership." An interim superintendent will be named by Sept. 1, he said.

The board met in executive session prior to the vote. It also discussed Aubin's contract in executive session on Monday night.

Aubin, on the job since January 2010, had two years left on her contract. In June, the board voted not give her a raise and not to extend her contract for another three years.

She could not be reached to comment.
