    Honoring Prudence Crandall in Canterbury

    Canterbury - Kevin Johnson, portrayed and dressed in 1833 period clothing as Pvt. William Webb, a soldier in the 29th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Regiment, for the 27th annual observance of Prudence Crandall Day at The Prudence Crandall Museum in Canterbury Saturday. Johnson had just finished giving a performance as a Civil War soldier for "The Life and Times of William Webb."

    Ray Coombs Sr., vice president of the Friends of Prudence organization, and his wife, Nancy Coombs, both dressed the part for the annual event.
