New London — The Lawrence + Memorial Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services Department is offering free child development screenings from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Pequot Health Center in Groton, and from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the hospital’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Services center, 40 Boston Post Road in Waterford.

Licensed therapists will observe children ages 9 months to 7 years and answer questions about child development.

The screenings are appropriate for children with poor handwriting skills or those who have difficulty eating, talking, walking, crawling, or who have poor coordination or trouble following directions.

Registration by Thursday is required.
