AFT Connecticut endorses Salem school board candidate

AFT Connecticut has endorsed Sam Rindell, a Democratic candidate for Salem Board of Education.

“It’s gratifying to be able to throw our support behind a such a great candidate to help shape education policy in Salem,” said Melodie Peters, president of AFT Connecticut. “As an educator himself, Sam really gets what matters most to his community. I’m proud that we are standing with him.

“A political endorsement is a decision we do not take lightly. It’s not about picking the politician who can make the best promises. It’s about choosing the men and women who have the best potential to fulfill the real promise of public service.”

Rindell is an adjunct instructor for the University of Connecticut School of Business’ MBA Program and member of the UConn Professional Employees Association, AFT Local 3695, according to a press release from AFT Connecticut.
