Ledyard hires consultant for school improvement project
Ledyard – The Municipal Building Committee voted Monday night to hire Hamden-based Silver/Petrucelli & Associates for a school facilities improvement project.
An earlier incarnation of the project that would have renovated Ledyard Middle School and closed one of the town’s elementary schools was scrapped in the spring. The town will aim to present voters with a new plan by next May’s budget referendum.
The Municipal Building Committee considered 14 candidates for the job and individually interviewed four firms. The next step will be for the committee to notify the Town Council and request an appropriation of no more than $50,000.
