Mystic Irish Parade names 2014 grand marshal
If Tony Sheridan seems a little green, it’s not because of any lingering illness. It’s an Irish thing.
Thursday evening, during a press conference in Mystic’s Harp & Hound, Sheridan, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Connecticut, was named grand marshal for the 2014 Mystic Irish Parade.
The 2013 Mystic Irish Parade Foundation grant recipients were also announced. They include Safe Futures (previously the Women’s Center of Southeastern Connecticut), Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, the John Kelly Foundation, Centro de la Comunidad, and Enders Island. More than $2,000 will be donated to these nonprofit organizations.
The 2014 parade will take place on March 23.
