Montville appoints new Oakdale Elementary principal

Montville — The Board of Education Wednesday appointed Jill Mazzalupo principal of Oakdale Elementary School. She will be replacing Mark Johnson, who was promoted to director of special services for the district in September.

Before becoming principal, Mazzalupo was the supervisor of special education at Mohegan Elementary School. Mazzalupo attended Oakdale Elementary School herself, said Interim Superintendent Brian Levesque.

Levesque said Mazzalupo was selected from among 30 applicants by a 10-person search committee that included representation from administrators and parents.

Levesque said he recommended Mazzalupo to the board “with enthusiasm and without hesitation.”
