Drug arrest in Danielson involves crack cocaine in waistband
Danielson — A Holland, Mass., man was arrested Thursday evening after state police found 35 baggies of crack cocaine packaged for street sale hidden in a custom-made waistband.
Police said Lashawn Dismuke, 45, was stopped on Furnace Street at about 7 p.m. for a traffic violation. During the stop, K-9 Dutch, a patrol shepherd, signaled the officer to the presence of drugs. A drug detecting Labrador retriever was called to the scene and located the drugs on Dismuke.
The 35 baggies of crack cocaine had an estimated street value of $1,750, police said.
Dismuke was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Friday.
