Middletown outdoor theater to feature New London native

    Alex Kydd

New London native Alex Kydd will be featured in ARTFARM’s presentation in Middletown of Carlo Goldoni’s Commedia dell’Arte classic “The Servant of Two Masters.”

This is Kydd’s first role in an ARTFARM production, but he has played several roles in Flock Theater in New London, including Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” and Fabian in “Twelfth Night.” He was also in New York’s Mad & Merry Theater Co. as Sebastian in “The Tempest.”

The production, marking the 11th season of ARTFARM’s Shakespeare in the Grove, will run from July 13-17 and July 20- 24 in the Grove on the campus of Middlesex Community College, 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown.

Performances begin at 7 p.m., preceded by live music beginning at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic in the grove overlooking the Connecticut River Valley.

The professional production features live musical accompaniment and classic Commedia masks. It is appropriate for all ages.

Tickets are $25, $15 for students. Wednesday performances are pay-what-you-can.
