Contractor awarded bond for New London's Veterans Field

New London — The City Council earlier this month awarded Killingworth-based Running Brook Farms the contract for improvements at Veterans Field on Cedar Grove Avenue. Running Brook Farms submitted a $749,998 bid for the work there.

The restoration of what is now a vacant field adjacent to the former Edgerton School is slated to include construction of a baseball field and parking lot and the demolition of a concrete structure on the property.

Work is expected to start this spring.
