Cancer awareness Oct. 21

New London — A free Breast Cancer Awareness event sponsored by The Pink Team will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at Shiloh Family Life Center at 3 Garvin St.

Breast cancer screenings, survival testimonies and information about surgical reconstruction options are among the topics that will be discussed. A light lunch will be served, so attendees are asked to RSVP by Oct. 18 by calling Annita Harris at 860-460-6179, Lisa Carbone at 860-884-8060 or by emailing nitabeuria@yahoo.com.

50 Shades of Pink is a nonprofit amed at supporting families as members are undergoing cancer treatments.
