Thursday is Thanksgiving, a federal holiday. Federal, state and municipal offices will be closed Thursday in observation, including the U.S. Postal Service. The Connecticut Lottery offices will be closed Thursday, though drawings will take place at their usual times.

Most schools in the region will be closed Wednesday as Thanksgiving break begins, with a few exceptions: North Stonington, New London, Norwich and Stonington schools will have early dismissal Wednesday. School resumes Monday.

Amtrak trains are operating on a special holiday schedule that began Tuesday and will be in place through Monday, Nov. 27. For more information, visit bit.ly/TGAmtrak. SEAT buses will not be running Thursday, but will be running regular hours on Wednesday and Friday.
