    My Pet Pal: Blaise

Blaise (aka “The Blaisiosaur”) attached himself several years ago to a colony of feral and semi-feral cats being fed by an elderly neighbor near our former home. Blaise spent at least 18 months, including two very bad winters, as an outdoor-only kitty. During this time, he sustained a severe injury and subsequent infection to the left side of his face, leaving permanent damage. When the neighbor died, some cat-lovers from the neighborhood rescued and placed as many of these cats as possible. Blaise ended up with us, and came with us and our other kitties when we moved to Gales Ferry. Blaise obviously had a loving home sometime earlier in his life, because he gets along with our other cats, and he loves people. He will jump into any vacant lap he sees, and purr loudly until he eventually drifts off to sleep. He loves wet cat food and cuddling; he hates getting ear drops and being combed.
