    Three town committees to hold Democratic candidate forum

    The Tri-Town Democratic Town Committees, representing Democrats of Lyme, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook, will present a candidate forum at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, at Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School.

    The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the forum will start at 6:30 p.m. Candidates will present brief statements and then answer questions from delegates of the committees.

    The committees have invited a slate of Democratic candidates, including:

    • Incumbent candidate for U.S. Senate: Sen. Chris Murphy

    • Incumbent candidate for U.S. House of Representatives: Rep. Joe Courtney

    • Candidates for governor: Susan Bysiewicz; Sean Connolly; Jonathan Harris (tentatively confirmed); Ned Lamont (tentatively confirmed)

    • Incumbent candidate for U.S. secretary of state: Denise Merrill (confirmed) 

    • Candidates for state treasurer: Dita Bhargava; Shawn Wooden (confirmed) 

    • Candidates for state attorney general: Paul Doyle; Claire Kindall (confirmed); Christopher Mattei (tentatively confirmed); William Tong (tentatively confirmed)

    • Incumbent candidate for state comptroller: Kevin Lembo

    • Candidate for state House: Matthew Pugliese (confirmed) 

    • Candidates for Senator: Martha Marx (confirmed); Norm Needleman (confirmed)

    Updates on candidates who are attending will be posted on the Facebook pages of the Lyme, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook Democratic Town Committees.
