Biologist will give lecture on Connecticut River artist Roger Tory Peterson
Old Lyme — The president of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute will speak Thursday about the naturalist, artist and conservationist who found inspiration on the banks of the Connecticut River Estuary.
Twan Leenders, a biologist and herpetologist specializing in animal ecology and conservation management, will focus his lecture on Peterson's early years in Jamestown, N.Y., and how they led him to inspire amateur and professional naturalists throughout the world.
The lecture at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. The lecture is free but seating is limited. Register by calling (860) 598-4218 or emailing rtpec@ctaudubon.org.
