Follow the fibers to Bushnell Farm

Bushnell Farm in Old Saybrook is having an open farm day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.

The day will feature tours of the Loom House and sheep shearing and flax processing demonstrations to show how the original family at the 1678 farm weaved their own cloth.

Other historical experts will be on hand to talk about how colonial families and Native Americans in the area prepared for the annual rites of spring.
