    Local Special Olympics athletes among those attending national competition in Seattle

    Members of Special Olympics Connecticut are competing this week in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Wash. Athletes from across the state are competing in a variety of disciplines, including golf, bowling, swimming, and a new video game tournament.

    Local athletes include Richard Kent of Gales Ferry (Unified bowling), Shayne Curtiss of Groton (Unified Bowling), Coach Lisa Thomasco of Mystic (Unified bowling), Lonnie Braxton III of New London (Unified tennis) and Stephen Emblidge of Waterford (swimming).
