Let's Go: Mitchell Farm music festival, lobster and clam bake

Mitchell Farm Equine Retirement is hosting its 11th annual music festival on Saturday, Sept. 15. The festival, a fundraiser and awareness event for the retired horse sanctuary and its work with equine welfare, will feature Aztec Two-Step, Jonathan Edwards and the Pousette-Dart Band. Food vendors will be on site, and guests are invited to bring their own seating, picnics and drinks.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, the farm will host its second annual lobster and clam bake at 3 p.m. The tented dinner will include a variety of seafood dishes catered by Flanders Fish Market in East Lyme, with live music by Poor Richard. Proceeds from the clam bake support the farm’s horse feed fund.

Tickets for the music festival are $57 before Sept. 8 and $65 at the event. Clam bake tickets are $85. Guests are asked to leave their dogs at home for the safety of the resident horses. For more information, call (860) 303-8705. Mitchell Farm is located at 300 East Haddam Road in Salem.
