A disabled freight train continued to impact Amtrak and Shore Line East service in both directions Thursday morning, officials said.
Amtrak said Train 66 was stopped at Old Saybrook because of the freight train that has been east of the station since Wednesday. It said Acela Train 2151 also could be affected.
Shore Line East said it was taking passengers from the New London station to Old Saybrook via cab. Trains 1633 and 1641 to New Haven have been impacted so far.
It wasn't immediately clear why the freight train became disabled or what it was carrying.
