Opponents of Groton charter revisions to hold info sessions
Groton — The movement to urge residents to vote no on the charter revision ballot question in November is hosting two information sessions on the charter revisions at the Groton Public Library in October.
They will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 10, both at 7 p.m. For more information, email votenocharterrevisions@gmail.com.
The charter revisions include implementing an annual budget referendum, extending Town Council terms from two to four years, eliminating the Representative Town Meeting and instituting a seven-person Board of Finance.
Groton's Right to Vote, the group in favor of the revisions, held an information session on Wednesday evening, and plans to hold two more, on Oct. 23 and 30.
