Mystic — The Mayflower II continues to undergo restoration work Friday at Mystic Seaport Museum's H.B. duPont Preservation Shipyard.

The ship, a replica of the vessel that brought the Pilgrims to the New World in 1620, was built in 1957 in England as a gift to the United States in thanks for support during and after World War II. An attraction at Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, Mass., the ship is undergoing the 30-month restoration at the Seaport in preparation to sail again on the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims' voyage.
