North Stonington — Katherine Sebastian Dring was elected to another term as chairwoman of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Council in voting among tribal members, the tribe has announced.

Also elected were JoAnne Silva Njoku, corresponding secretary; Ashbow Sebastian, comptroller; and Stephen Randall.

Incumbent councilors who were not up for election include Brenda Geer, vice chairwoman; Valerie Gambrell, treasurer; Lynn Powers, recording secretary; Tyrone Gambrell; La’Tasha Maddox; Carole Maddox; Natasha Gambrell; Shianne Sebastian, Mitchel Ray and Derrick Strong. Larry Pemberton did not seek re-election.

Voting took place during the tribe's annual meeting in July.
