    Valley Shore Acapella seeks singers

Valley Shore Acappella meets most Wednesdays at the East Lyme Community Center.

A hint of snow in the air, the scent of balsam greenery, gingerbread men baking and carolers singing songs: These are likely memories from distant childhood.

But if you loved singing along to seasonal music, Valley Shore Acappella has a way to rejigger your jingle belling. The East Lyme-based group is inviting singers to come out of their shells and join its Holiday Chorus.

“Learn to sing in four-part harmony for four weeks in November,” the group said in a release. “Our director, Angie Clark, will teach you how to blend your voice with others and make beautiful holiday music.”

Singers are invited to rehearsals at no cost at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Nov. 7, Nov. 14, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5. The chorus’ annual Holiday Concert will be held Dec. 12 at the East Lyme Community Center.

For information, call Wendy Petersen at (860) 739-7011, Candace Neilson at (860) 739-7566 or Jane Zanardi at (860) 304-9124. Otherwise, simply come to the community center at 37 Society Road, Niantic.
