    Creature feature in Old Lyme

    Educator Nikki Saccoccia of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center holds an American toad for Conor Buckeridge, 6, of Old Lyme to pet at the Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library in Old Lyme.     Old Lyme — Educator Nikki Saccoccia of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center holds an American toad for Conor Buckeridge, 6, of Old Lyme to pet at the Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library.

    Saccoccia was talking about the toad and some other creatures, such as a Madagascar hissing cockroach, Eastern screech owl and Eastern black rat snake, that have an undeserved spooky reputation.
