Nearly 500 people attended the Groton Public Library’s Bumpers and Books festival on Saturday, Oct. 20. The trunk-or-treat event features book- and author-themed trunks, along with face painting and crafts for the kids and a used book sale for the adults. Whittle’s Farm in Mystic offered pumpkins, apples, cider and gourds for attendees.

Bumpers and Books is an annual event for the library. The 2017 Bumpers and Books event was awarded “Best Focused Project in the State” by the Friends of Connecticut Libraries earlier this year.
