Friends and Neighbors: Two Lyme teens earn their Eagle Scout rank

Theodore Wayland and Evan St. Louis of Lyme have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. They will be honored at a ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Wayland’s Eagle project was designing and building three flag repository boxes, the result of a grant from the Old Lyme VFW. The boxes are located at the Old Lyme Town Hall, Lyme Town Hall and Lymes’ Senior Center.

St. Louis refurbished the outdoor bocce courts at the Lymes’ Senior Center for his Eagle project. He cleared brush, repainted and stained the frames, installed two new benches and refinished the playing surfaces.

Both Wayland and St. Louis are juniors at Lyme-Old Lyme High School. They enjoy camping, hiking and spending time in the outdoors.
