Harvard Pilgrim awards food service grant in New London

Jason Madrak, vice president for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (far left) and Bill Martin, executive director of Waterford Country School (far right), present a $5,000 grant to Valerie Tamano, president of the New London Education Foundation, and Alex Leigh, chef at the Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School in New London. The grant will enable a FoodCorps service member to work with New London food service director and local farmers to get more fresh food on the school’s lunch menu and encourage students to try samples during taste tests.
